It may depend on the track very much. A modern track may have a very smooth surface. Furthermore, some tracks are laser scanned and some others are not.
I don´t remember my settings at the moment but I know I didn´t change much. Maybe from 50 to 55 or 60 here and there. Plus I mapped the general strength to a rotating button on my button box so I can adopt FFB strength on the fly.
Just in case you are talking of the Lotus 49C at Hockenheim Classic: No way, this track is very bumpy and yes, I feel every single bump in my wheel.
